What I Believe
I believe you deserve to be able to show up as your whole self in therapy. No editing, explaining, shrinking, or apologizing required.
My practice is trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, body-neutral, and neurodiversity-affirming. I welcome different identities, cultures, relationship structures, bodies, brains, and ways of moving through the world, and I’m not interested in trying to make you fit into someone else’s idea of who you’re supposed to be.
I also believe that context matters. You don't exist in a vacuum, and not everything you're struggling with is a personal problem that needs to be fixed. Your family, relationships, work, culture, community, identity, and the systems around you all shape your experience. I practice from a systems-informed and feminist perspective, which means we’ll look at the bigger picture. Not just what’s happening inside your head, but what’s happening around you.
I believe therapy should help you understand yourself, not judge yourself.
I believe your coping strategies probably made sense at some point even the ones that are causing problems now.
I believe you can be both a work in progress and already enough.
And I believe therapy can be meaningful without being miserable. There should be room for honesty, humor, curiosity, tears, breakthroughs, “what the hell was I thinking?” moments, and everything in between.
Most of all, I want this to be a place where you can come make some space for yourself.
You don't have to perform here.
You don't have to have it all figured out.
You get to be a whole person.
